Q: Are the IFS courses offered by MCAFT the same as the IFS Trainings offered by the IFS Institute?
No. Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 IFS training programs offered through the IFS Institute provide comprehensive training and experience in the IFS therapeutic model. Upon completion of each level of training, participants are prepared to work as IFS therapists, having gained a breadth of knowledge and understanding about the way in which IFS enhances their lives, the lives of their clients, and others. Other IFS events and activities – such as IFS courses offered through MCAFT– are generally shorter and/or serve as introductions to aspects of the IFS model. Some of the courses offered through MCAFT are designed specifically to support and empower those who are waiting to get into a Level 1 Training through the IFS Institute. Other courses offered thru MCAFT might be geared towards IFS trained therapists, and those courses might require a Level 1 training thru the IFS Institute as a prerequisite to the course offered at MCAFT. We hope these courses nurture, support and empower you on your IFS journey!
Q: How Can I Afford an IFS Retreat-Style Course?
We’ve thought deeply about the value of retreat-style course in relation to cost, and we continue to offer these retreats because we truly believe in their impact.
Our IFS retreats are immersive, thoughtfully structured experiences designed to help you deepen your relationship with your inner system, expand your understanding of IFS, and reconnect with your Self in a meaningful way. They offer the depth of a training — while also being more spacious, restorative, and relational than daylong or online trainings. You’ll be held in a supportive, attuned environment by experienced facilitators who are committed to creating safety, clarity, and care throughout the retreat.
In addition to the clinical and experiential richness, our retreats include cozy accommodations, nourishing food, and intentional logistical planning — so you can arrive, settle, and focus on your inner work without needing to manage the details. Many past participants describe the experience as a profound investment in themselves, their healing, and their long-term wellbeing - in addition to an investment in their professional lives.
That said, we also understand that cost is a very real consideration — and each person’s financial situation is unique.
If You’re Feeling Financially Stretched
If you know you’d like to attend but the full cost feels difficult right now, we invite you to explore a few options:
Payment plans: We offer the option to spread the retreat cost over up to six months, which can make participation more manageable from a cash-flow perspective.
Support from loved ones: Some participants choose to ask a partner, family member, or loved one for partial support — especially those who value their healing, rest, and growth.
Scholarship support: If attending would not be possible for you without financial assistance, please reach out. We typically offer at least one partial scholarship space, and availability may vary from retreat to retreat.
If you have questions or would like to explore payment options, scholarships, or next steps, we warmly invite you to reach out by emailing Sioux at sioux@mcaft.com.
